ROLE

GreenPlaces helps companies gain visibility and transparency into their carbon emissions so they may create sustainability plans and comply with national and international standards. GreenPlaces is seeking an experienced Carbon Accountant to assist with the completion of client’s greenhouse gas inventory reports and sustainability plans. In this role, you will directly interface and prioritize client needs and business development, and collaborate with sustainability team members and account managers to improve the overall client experience. The ideal candidate has an excellent ability to multitask, communicate effectively, is a team player, and possesses a high level of attention to detail. Experience in carbon accounting (corporate greenhouse gas inventory reporting) is a must. Experience in life cycle assessments, environmental policy, data analysis, ESG reporting, etc. is a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Analyze and organize client’s data
  • Independently complete GHG Inventory reports
  • Conduct research on GHG accounting and emission reporting
  • Assist with the creation of client-specific emission reduction plans
  • Interface regularly with clients (data collection meetings, report out meetings, reduction strategy meetings, etc.)
  • Collaborating with all internal departments to address client needs/wants

  • Capable of self-led learning and process implementation

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience

  • Previous independent roles in any of the following fields: Carbon Accounting, Data Analyst, Sustainability (emphasis on the environmental side of ESG), earth/environmental science (required)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)

  • Proficiency in corporate GHG accounting.

  • Significant experience writing scientific reports (required)

  • Experience conducting independent research (required)

  • Experience conducting LCAs (nice to have)

  • Experience reporting into various environmental frameworks, such as CDP, SASB, GRI, TCFD, etc. (nice to have)
