Power Apps Developer

i4DM is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Power Apps Developer to join our fast-growing IT-project based consulting business. We need a well-rounded team member with a background in application development, customization, and integration using Power Apps and related Microsoft technologies to support the creation of impactful solutions for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work and collaborate on a team of project managers, business analysts, developers/engineers, and QA staff within an Agile DevSecOps environment. As a crucial member of our team, you will also be expected to interface with client representatives. Our team member will:

  • Engage in the analysis of application design requirements and participate with Agile team members to understand business requirements.
  • Develop custom business applications using Power Apps including canvas and model-driven apps.
  • Integrate Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages with other Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint, Power BI, and Microsoft 365.
  • Design and implement custom connectors for Power Apps to communicate with various data sources, including Microsoft Dataverse
  • Utilize Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) to create automated workflows between apps and services.
  • Conduct performance tuning of Power Apps applications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Customize and extend Power Apps functionalities using PowerFX, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies.
  • Perform data transformations and data cleaning to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Implement data security and governance policies within Power Apps.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power Apps solutions.
  • Develop and maintain Power Pages (Power Apps Portals) for external-facing web applications.
  • Design and implement Power Platform solutions, including Power Pages, Power Portals, and Power Virtual Agents.
  • Create and manage Power Automate flows to enhance business processes.
  • Develop custom Power Platform solutions that extend beyond Power Apps to include Power BI dashboards, Power Pages, and Power Virtual Agents.
  • Maintain and update Power Platform environments, ensuring best practices and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Provide guidance and best practices for Power Platform governance and administration.
  • Actively participate with an Agile-Scrum team.
  • Engage with the team to refine and estimate stories in the backlog.
  • Support the development of technical strategies aimed at improving productivity across various functional areas within the organization.
  • Operate effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in developing and implementing custom business applications using Power Apps.
  • Experience with Power Automate for creating and managing automated workflows.
  • Solid experience integrating Power Apps with various data sources such as SharePoint, Dynamics 365, SQL Server, and Microsoft 365.
  • Proficiency in using PowerFX, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies to customize and extend Power Apps functionalities.
  • Experience in developing and managing Power Pages (Power Apps Portals) for external-facing web applications.
  • Knowledge of Power Platform governance and administration.
  • Understanding of data security, data governance, and compliance practices within Power Apps.
  • Have solid experience running/participating in meetings with remote team members through collaboration technology
  • Have some experience with Agile and collaboration technologies including Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint
  • Have solid Client Interaction and Problem-solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting Veterans Affairs programs or Healthcare IT programs
  • Expertise in modular application architectures
  • Understanding and expertise of HCD/UCD principles
  • Strong knowledge of APIs and integration strategies
